This year went by so fast, but I am glad to say I have kept up with reading each month at least. I have leaned into Audiobooks a lot in the past few months though. Mostly due to a busy scheduled that involved a lot of time driving. But now it’s time to get back to my stack of physical books that have sat waiting for me to get around to reading them. Starting with Dave Ramsey’s Total Money Makeover: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness as September 2023’s book of the month.
Personal finance management is one of those necessary evils we must all deal with in life, so we might as well know the best tips and tricks. Being raise by someone who was a credit manager for large companies longer than I’ve been alive has really opened my eyes to some really helpful ways to manage my money. But I’m excited to see what Dave Ramsey has to add to my knowledge bank.
My September 2023 Book of the Month
This month I want to focus on my personal finances. With the holidays coming up, I want to prepare for the money I’ll be spending on Christmas gifts, food, travel, etc. Come New Years day I will have a plan in place for my personal finances moving forward.
The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey
Dave Ramsey is a well known radio personality who is well known and trusted for his insight on business and finances. As a best selling author and host of his own radio show “The Dave Ramsey Show”, I think I can trust his advice regarding my personal finances.
Join me on my journey to “financial fitness” and read Total Money Makeover with me this month. The New Year is right around the corner, which means New Years resolutions involving personal finance. I’m hopeful that this book with give me some new tools to better manage my personal finances.
I love how in his descriptions he refers to it as “financial fitness” and “building your money muscles.” It also says the goals of this book are to help you manage and pay of debt (including those huge debts you feel like you’ll never see the end of like cars and houses), recognizing “money myths”, and building your nest egg to support you in emergencies as well as retirement.
Grab a nice cup of coffee and cozy up into your favorite reading spot, and let’s get into better “financial shape” this September!
