Recently I purchased the Hamilton Beach Flex Brew coffee maker, due to the fact that hurricane Irma decided to leave me high and dry with a fried Keurig. Let me tell you, this machine was a godsend! It was exactly what I needed in a coffee maker.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved my little red Keurig coffee maker, but I was well overdue for an upgrade. Not only can my new Flex Brew make a full pot of coffee, but it also can brew k-cups if you only need one cup! If you think that’s amazing, it also comes with this handy-dandy mini plastic filter pod that goes in the same spot as your k-cup. You can fill it with your own coffee grounds. And with it, you can brew a whole 14 oz of coffee for your travel mug.

My favorite feature about this amazing piece of machinery is the fact that you can set it to automatically brew a pot of coffee for you at any time you desire. I set it each night before work, so I can wake up to the scent of freshly brewed coffee. That’s how to start a work day off the right way for sure.
My huge Ozark Trail 30 oz travel mug fits under the k-cup dispensing spout, which came as a shock to me. Typically I have to have that cup at an odd angle to catch coffee out of a single serve brewer. This machine does not cease to amaze me. It was so well worth the money spent, I don’t regret a dime of it!
I would highly recommend this coffee maker to any of you fellow coffee addicts out there! Or to any college student like my self who needs access to a great cup of coffee at any given point in the day, but can’t afford to run to Starbucks twice a day.
Speaking of Starbucks. my new favorite ground coffee to use in my Flex Brew is the Starbucks Verona blend, ground coffee. It’s a dark roast so you get that rich coffee flavor as well as the caffeine boost you need for those long days at work or long nights up studying. There’s no bitter aftertaste with this blend. At least not the way I brew it. I use the amount that the coffee maker recommended and it was perfect.
I was just beyond pleased with how my new coffee maker worked for me, I had to share it with you all.
Being the coffee addict that I am, I can assure you there will be plenty more to read about more upcoming coffee adventures and tastings to come. Do you have a coffee maker or coffee blend that you absolutely love as much as I love mine? Tell me about them in the comments! I’m always up for trying new things.
