Hey there! I’m Kate, the Polymath Chick. Whether you just happened to stumble across my blog or are returning to see whats new, thank you for stopping by! I started this blog in June of 2017 as a sort of creative outlet. Polymath Chick has since blossomed into a place where I share posts about personal finance hacks, health and wellness topics, as well as some travel experiences that I’ve had.
When I first wrote this “about the chick” this is what I had to say…
“I’m just a 22-year-old millennial girl still learning how to do this whole “adulting” thing. I have to say, it’s a lot harder than it looks. I work at a hospital full time as a CNA currently. I’m hoping to become a full-fledged nurse one day (soon). I have big dreams that require me to have big goals.
I’ve always enjoyed writing but was never the book writing type of gal. For the longest time, I wasn’t sure how to express this interest of mine. Then I found out I can write about anything and everything that I enjoy doing, and share it with the world I jumped right on that opportunity! Now here I am today, and I can honestly say I have caught the blogging bug. Watch out, it’s highly contagious.
You can’t be serious all the time though. Big goald may need my full dedication, but I always make sure I take some time for myself and annoy life while I’m still young. In my downtime, I try and focus on the arts and crafts that I love to do as well as trying new recipes, reading a good book, or just getting out and checking out a new coffee shop.”
Now I’m a 29 year old millennial girl who DID become a nurse. AND I was also able to turn my love for writing into a career over these past 6 years. I wrote my way through nursing school, bringing in a decent, livable income over my final year of school. I still continue to write to this day, but with the pandemic and my nursing career, I’ve dialed it back a smidge, temporarily.
After about a 2 year hiatus from putting intense focus on PMC (Polymath Chick) I am back and ready to blog! Over these past few years I’ve learned a ton about a lot of things, hence “polymath”. A few of my favorites include personal finance, travel, health and wellness, and book reviews and recommendations. My goal is to share bits of my knowledge and experience in these different realms in hopes of answering questions or solving problems that you may be facing in life.
But anyway, enough about me! A successful blogger that I follow on YouTube often talks about how, in order to become a successful blogger “Don’t talk about yourself. No one cares!” I’m not sure how much I agree with that statement personally. Any blog that I follow where the blogger talks about his or her personal life intrigues me and has me hooked on following their story and seeing where their blogging success has taken them in life. But hey, that’s just me.
